## Where we deliver
We deliver to addresses in the **United Kingdom** only: England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and BFPO addresses.
We do not currently deliver to the Republic of Ireland, the Channel Islands, the Isle of Man, or any address outside the United Kingdom. If you are outside our delivery area, please email hello@thehardwareedit.com and we will tell you honestly whether we can help.
**Northern Ireland.** Every range we sell can be delivered to Northern Ireland. Delivery there is charged at a flat rate that depends on the value of your order, set out below.
---
## Delivery charges
| Order value | Mainland UK (England, Scotland, Wales, BFPO) |
|---|---|
| Under £12.50 | £3.99 |
| £12.50 to £78.99 | £6.99 |
| £79 and over | Free |
| Order value (excluding delivery) | Northern Ireland |
|---|---|
| Under £250 | £90.00 |
| £250 and over | £45.00 |
We are not registered for VAT, so no VAT is added to your goods or your delivery charge. The delivery rate that applies to your order is shown at checkout before you pay.
Northern Ireland is charged at a flat rate rather than by order value, because our carriers charge us a high fixed cost to send long, awkward items across the Irish Sea. That cost is much the same whether we send one pole or several, which is why the rate falls once your order reaches £250. Free delivery over £79 applies to mainland UK only and does not apply to Northern Ireland.
The £250 threshold is measured on the value of the goods, before delivery is added.

## Delivery times
Our published window is **2 to 5 working days** from despatch for all destinations.
Working days are Monday to Friday, excluding bank holidays. Orders placed at a weekend or on a bank holiday are processed on the next working day.
All delivery times are estimates rather than guarantees. Long items travel with specialist carriers whose schedules are less predictable than standard parcel networks, and rural and Highland postcodes can take longer.
If your order is going to take significantly longer than the published window, we will contact you.
---
## Long items
Curtain poles and tracks are long, slim and awkward to handle. We supply poles up to 4.8m and tracks up to 7.2m.
Anything over about 2.4m travels with a specialist carrier rather than a standard parcel service. This means:
- delivery is usually to your door rather than inside your home
- someone needs to be available to receive and sign for the delivery, because long items cannot be posted through a letterbox or safely left
- the carrier will normally contact you to arrange or confirm a delivery slot
If nobody is available and the carrier has to make a second attempt, we may need to pass on a redelivery charge. We will always tell you before charging anything.
---
## Made to measure and cut lengths
Some of our products are cut, joined or finished to your specification, including cut lengths, bay window poles, French and corner poles and portiere rods.
For these items we confirm your measurements with you before anything is made. Your delivery window starts from the point measurements are agreed, not from when you place the order, and these items usually take longer than a stock item.
Because they are made to your specification, made to measure items are excluded from the standard 14 day cancellation right. Your legal rights if an item is faulty or not as described are unaffected. See our [Refund Policy](/policies/refund-policy) for full details.
---
## Availability
Our suppliers do not publish live stock data to us, so our website does not show real time availability. We accept your order and then confirm with our supplier.
If something you have ordered turns out to be unavailable or discontinued, we will contact you promptly with the options: wait for stock, choose an alternative, or cancel that line and receive a full refund for it. We will not simply leave you waiting.
---
## When your order arrives
Ownership and risk stay with us until your order is delivered to the address you gave us.
Please check your delivery when it arrives. Poles and tracks are long items and occasionally pick up damage in transit.
If anything arrives **damaged, incomplete or incorrect**, contact us at hello@thehardwareedit.com as soon as you reasonably can, with photographs where you are able to send them. We will arrange a replacement, a repair or a refund. Please keep the packaging until the matter is settled, as carriers sometimes need to inspect it.
If your order does not arrive within the published window, contact us and we will chase the carrier on your behalf.
---
## Deliveries to a different address
You can have your order delivered to an address different from your billing address, including directly to a client, a site or a trade counter. Enter it as the delivery address at checkout.
For site and trade deliveries, please make sure someone will be there to receive long items, and tell us in the order notes if there are access restrictions, delivery windows or a contact number for the site.
---
## Trade customers
We supply interior designers, housebuilders and contractors. If you order regularly, or need consolidated or scheduled deliveries, contact us at hello@thehardwareedit.com and we will set arrangements up with you directly rather than order by order.
